Peach harvest continues in good conditions

According to the Economic Bulletin released by Emater/RS-Ascar this Thursday (23), the peach harvest is progressing in the main producing regions of Rio Grande do Sul. In Pelotas, the orchards are in the fruit development phase, and in some earlier cultivars, the beginning of filling is already observed. Emater reported that many producers are still able to thin the fruit, even with a delay. "The production expectation remains excellent, and the plants and fruits show good health due to the increase in sunshine and the reduction in air humidity," the bulletin highlighted. Monitoring of the fruit fly remains active, with guidance for the adoption of preventive measures, such as the use of toxic baits and, in some cases, the application of insecticides.
