Brazil's interior São Paulo peanut crop is expected to surpass one million tons, marking a 20% increase from the previous year and the best harvest in recent years. This growth is attributed to favorable weather conditions, increased demand for chocolate, and recognition of peanuts' nutritional benefits. São Paulo, which accounts for over 90% of Brazil's peanut production, has employed specialties and techniques that have yielded significant results. In 2022, the price of a peanut bag rose from R$60 to R$90, indicating increased production and investment. Over the past eight years, Brazilian peanut production has seen an 115% increase, with São Paulo contributing 92% of this growth. The country also expects to expand its peanut exports to the European Union, which imported 70 thousand tons from Brazil in the previous year.
