As of September 30, 2021, the United States had peanut stocks amounting to 1.41 billion pounds, a decrease from the previous year's 1.46 billion pounds. The stocks consist of 758 million pounds of actual farmer stock and 639 million pounds of shelled peanuts. Edible grade stocks made up 480 million pounds, with 449 million pounds being edible and 30.7 million pounds being oil. In September, millings totaled 390 million pounds, with 23.7 million pounds being Virginias and Valencias and 366 million pounds being Runners. Commercial processors used 196 million pounds of shelled edible grade peanuts, primarily for peanut butter, candy, and snacks. Deliveries for the Government Domestic Feeding and Child Nutrition Programs reached 3.90 million pounds of peanut butter and 104 thousand pounds of roasted peanuts.
