The Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA) has recently submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment regarding the difficulties faced by pepper enterprises in obtaining Food Safety Certificates for plant-based export products, especially for spice items.
Lack of Certificates Causes Difficulties for Pepper Export Enterprises
According to the association, from July 1st, the issuance of Food Safety Certificates has been transferred to provincial agencies in accordance with Circular No. 12/2025/TT-BNNMT.
However, this new regulation does not fully inherit the guidelines from Circular 44/2018/TT-BNNPTNT, leading to confusion and delays in the certificate issuance process.
This is particularly challenging for export enterprises, preventing goods from being cleared in a timely manner, affecting contract progress, and causing financial losses.
