Pepper prices in Vietnam have increased and are expected to rise further, according to the Chu Se Pepper Association. The current price in Dak Lak and Dak Nong is 72,500 VND/kg, and in Binh Phuoc it is 73,500 VND/kg. The spot price on the Kochi pepper exchange in India is at 41,785.7 rupees per quintal, the highest price achieved in the session. However, the COVID-19 pandemic and increased freight rates have affected the export volume of pepper, and global pepper supply is expected to be replenished from the Indonesian harvest.
