The Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation of Peru and the Ministry of Rural Development and Lands of Bolivia are collaborating to enhance the productivity of family agriculture in the Andean potato-based food systems. This collaboration aims to strengthen the availability of food in rural areas, differentiate the value of family farming in the market, and improve the production cycle of the potato value chain. The virtual videoconference also aimed to increase the availability of potatoes in the domestic market and strengthen the capacities of staff through the exchange of national and international experiences. The potato is the third most important food crop in the world and plays a crucial role in the agricultural economy of Peru, being the main source of income for over 710,000 families.
