The production is concentrated in the southern regions of the country, with a significant portion of the production being for table olives. The annual production is 3,300 tons, all of which is consumed domestically. The olive sector generates a business volume of 125.99 million euros and employs 1,454 people. The consumption of olive oil is predominantly by women, older adults, and middle-income families, with extra virgin olive oil being the most consumed.
