In October 2024, Peruvian strawberry exports experienced a significant boost, with a total of 7,253 tons exported earning US$ 13.7 million, marking a 70% increase in volume and 75% increase in value compared to the same month in the previous year. The average price per kilogram also rose by 3% to US$ 1.89. Despite this positive trend in October, the year still suffered a decline in strawberry exports, with a total of 17,872 tons exported, down by 31%, and a total value of US$ 32.6 million, down by 24% year-on-year. The majority of the exports were in the form of frozen strawberries, with 98%, and were mainly distributed to 13 destinations, with the United States, Canada, and Japan being the top three.
