In October 2024, Peruvian fresh lemon exports saw a dramatic increase, with volume rising by 128% to 2,394 tons and revenue increasing by 83% to $2.33 million compared to the same month in 2023. Despite the increased revenue, the average price per kilogram of Peruvian lemons dropped by 19% to $0.98. Chile remained the primary market, absorbing 47% of the exports, followed by the United States and the Dominican Republic. The exports were predominantly handled by Terminales Portuarios Euroandinos – Paita, with DP World and APM Terminals also contributing significantly to the processing and shipping of the lemon exports.
