In October 2024, Peru's onion exports saw a significant increase, with a total of 47,873 tons exported earning US$ 27.4 million, marking a 35% increase in volume and 88% increase in value compared to the same month in 2023. The average price per kilogram also rose by 39% to US$ 0.57. The majority of the onions were exported from Ica, Lambayeque, Arequipa, and La Libertad, and reached 20 markets in America and Europe. The United States was the primary importer, receiving 72% of the total exports. Notable exporters included Agrícola Miranda S.A.C., Novoliz S.A., and Bland Farms (Peru) S.A.C., and the exports were primarily shipped through Terminal Portuario San Martín – Paracas.
