In 2022, Peru exported 54,836 tons of unrefined sugar to the United States, which is a 5.16% increase from the previous year, accounting for 94.05% of the quota granted by the US. The country's sugar exporting companies include Agrícola El Chira, Coazucar, Cartavio, Laredo, and Paramonga. The US grants a global quota of 1,117,000 tons of sugar at the start of each fiscal year, which is proportionally distributed among exporting countries. For fiscal year 2023, Peru has been assigned an original quota of 44,108 tons, a 2.2% increase due to the exclusion of Nicaragua.
