Peru exported 626 tons of pitahaya for US$1.54 million in the first quarter of 2025: growing 5 times in volume and 4 times in value

(Agraria.pe) The pitahaya had a good start this year, with exports in the first quarter exceeding all shipments for 2024. From January to March 2025, shipments of this Peruvian product totaled 626 tons for US$1.54 million, registering a five-fold increase in volume and a four-fold increase in value compared to the same period last year. However, the average price per kilogram fell -16%, from US$2.92 in 2024 to US$2.45 in 2025. The main Peruvian exporters in the first quarter of 2025 were Camposol S.A., with 60% of exports; Fruitxchange S.A.C., with 11%; and Dragon Fruit Export S.A.C., with 8%. Jorge Chávez International Airport is the hub of all Peruvian exports. Of the 14 markets served this quarter, Spain was the main destination for Peruvian pitahaya, with a 56% share. A total of 352 tons were shipped for a value of US$857,798, with an average price of US$2.44 per kilogram.
