Between January and March of this year, Peru experienced a moderate increase in the importation of fresh beef, bringing in 138,792 kilos at a CIF value of US$ 1,602,296, up from 70,621 kilos imported in the same period of 2023 at a value of US$ 947,043. The majority of these imports were facilitated by Oregon Foods, with other companies such as Supermercados Peruanos SA, Cecosud Retail Perú SAC, Matida SAC, and Inversiones Pecuarias Lurín also contributing. The total imports of fresh beef in 2023 reached 525,786 kilos, valued at US$ 6,024,415, with Bolivia, the United States, Brazil, and Argentina being the primary suppliers.
