Approximately 55,000 tons are exported worldwide for an estimated value of US$ 346 million, making it one of the smallest market nuts, especially when compared to established products like almonds (US$ 7,260 million) or macadamia nuts (US$ 7,548 million). Regarding Peru, exports in 2024 closed at around 5,471 tons, with a value close to US$ 40 million, giving it a share of approximately 12% of the global market.
