Peru has approved the export of donkey meat to China, despite concerns from the Association of Bovine Meat Producers about the product's lack of mass consumption tradition. The decision was made during the Peruvian government's visit to China, where three phytosanitary protocols for donkey meat, table grapes, and other products were signed. However, the government maintains that donkey meat exports are not nationally significant and are driven by private interest, particularly for medicinal use in China.
