Peru is back at the Fruit Attraction fair in Spain, representing its export offerings with 60 companies, including avocado, asparagus, grape, pomegranate, and kion (ginger) exporters. This marks the end of a two-year pandemic-induced absence, highlighting Spain's importance as a high-quality agricultural supplier and Peru's role as a strategic partner. Peruvian export companies are prepared to meet international market competition, having to adhere to certification requirements set by destination supermarkets. Peru is the second-largest avocado exporter in the world, with the Netherlands, the United States, and Spain being its primary fresh fruit markets. European companies are seen as strategic allies, aiding in increasing Peruvian exports.
