Peru opened its doors to the world as a megadiverse country and the official host of the Eleventh Meeting of the Governing Body of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture (ITPGRFA), which will run until November 29. Delegates from 155 countries are participating, who will define the global agenda on agricultural biodiversity and food security. In line with this, the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri), through the National Institute of Agrarian Innovation (INIA) and with the support of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), inaugurated the International Exhibition of Seeds of Peru, a showcase that presents the extraordinary genetic diversity of the country, collected from the 11 officially recognized agrobiodiversity zones in regions such as Puno, Cusco, Junín, Apurímac, Huancavelica, Arequipa, and San Martín.
