In March 2025, national avocado production reached 116,658 tons, representing an 8.4% increase compared to the same month of the previous year. This growth was driven by favorable thermal conditions that accelerated fruit ripening and allowed for expanded harvested areas.
Five regions stood out for their contribution to national production: Áncash (124.8%), Lambayeque (57.2%), La Libertad (21.8%), Lima (18.5%), and Ayacucho (16.5%), collectively concentrating 94.1% of the total, according to the technical report Peru: Departmental Economic Panorama, prepared by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI).
Likewise, increases were recorded in Pasco, Huánuco, Junín, Cusco, and Loreto. In contrast, decreases were reported in Arequipa (-43.8%), Apurímac (-36.1%), Ica (-7.8%), and Huancavelica (-4.9%).
