In June 2025, the national production of husked rice reached 788,079 tons, supported by the adequate water conditions that favored its vegetative growth, as well as by the increase in harvested areas of this cereal, mainly intended for internal consumption. This is stated in the Technical Report Peru: Departmental Economic Panorama from the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI). These figures represented an increase of 26.4% compared to the same month of the previous year, highlighting three regions in the north of the country: La Libertad (8516.9%), Piura (16.7%), and Lambayeque (15.0%), which together accounted for 74.8% of the national total.
