The National Agrarian Health Service (SENASA) of Peru has temporarily banned the importation of livestock products from Hungary and Slovakia for 90 days, effective from May 18, 2025. This decision was made in response to the official notifications from these countries to the World Organization for Animal Health (WHO) about foot-and-mouth disease outbreaks. SENASA can adjust the duration of the ban based on the situation in Hungary and Slovakia. The suspension aims to prevent the spread of foot-and-mouth disease to Peru.
