Peru has resumed its grape exports to Ecuador following an agreement between the National Agrarian Health Service (Senasa) and Agrocalidad of Ecuador. The bilateral meeting, held in the Tumbes region, re-establishes the phytosanitary requirements for grape exports to Ecuador, a market of 18 million potential consumers. The agreement aims to enhance bilateral trade and benefit Peruvian producers. The deal also intends to restart Peruvian fresh onion exports to Ecuador. The grape is a crucial export fruit for Peru, reaching 53 markets, and the shipment of Peruvian agricultural products to Ecuador is expected to boost the country's position as the leading agro-exporter of grapes in the world. The grape exporting regions in Peru include Ica, Piura, Lambayeque, and La Libertad.
