Peru's fresh blueberry export market is expected to face challenges in 2023 due to foreign conflicts, with a 28% decrease in exports in the first week of 2023 compared to the same period last season. Despite this, total exports this season have increased by 27% compared to the previous season, reaching 301,389 tons. The country's goal is to double shipments to markets where the Peruvian blueberry has low participation, with Israel and Asia being target markets. The United States and the Netherlands have been the main importers of Peruvian blueberries this season, accounting for 55% and 25% of total exports, respectively. Camposol S.A. is the leading Peruvian exporting company of blueberries, with a 15% share.
