Peru's mango exports to the United States have seen a significant increase this season, with a total of 18.9 million boxes expected by the end of the 2024/2025 season, marking a 217% rise from the previous season despite a 14% drop from the 2022/2023 season. The high volumes are attributed to the impact of El Niño on production. However, the season has faced logistical challenges such as container shortages and shipping delays, with a potential strike on the East Coast causing further issues. Despite these challenges, the quality of the Kent mangoes has remained good. After the end of the South American mango season in mid-February, supplies are expected to be limited, and Continental Fresh, a leading importer, will continue importing from Mexico, committing to social responsibility and sustainability through various initiatives like the Water For All branded mango program.
