Peru's Minister of Agrarian Development and Irrigation, Angel Manero, announced that Peru will sign a protocol to export meat to China next week, and negotiations for exporting frozen fruits, pomegranates, and pecans are moving forward with the goal of agreeing on these exports in November during the APEC Leaders' Summit. The signing of the meat export protocol, which usually takes 10 years, has been achieved in two months. The Vice Minister of the General Administration of Customs of China is coming to Peru for a technical visit to evaluate Peruvian slaughterhouses and stables as part of the export protocol process.
