In September 2024, Peru's tomato exports saw a significant decrease with a total volume of 1,868 tons, valued at US$ 2.39 million, marking a 35% drop in volume and a 57% decrease in value compared to the same month in the previous year. The average price per kilogram also fell by 33% to US$ 1.28. The exports were distributed to 10 destinations, with Colombia, Ecuador, and Brazil being the primary markets. Colombia accounted for 33% of the total exports, followed by Ecuador with 21% and Brazil with 15%. The marketing companies responsible for these exports included Icatom S.A. (89%), Agrícola Don Angel S.A.C. (8%), and Virú S.A. (3%).
