In September 2024, Peru achieved a record in bell pepper exports, with a total of 3,748 tons valued at $6.82 million, marking a 57% increase in volume and 73% increase in value compared to the same month in the previous year. Despite this, the annual cumulative of exports is 2% below the levels of 2023. The average price per kilogram of exports also increased by 10% to $1.82. The United States, Spain, and Puerto Rico were the top three markets for these exports. The exports were handled by DP World, APM Terminals, and Terminales Portuarios Euroandinos – Paita, with major contributions from Ecosac Agrícola S.A.C., Green Perú S.A., and Agroindustrias AIB S.A.
