The Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation of Peru announced that 27,504 tons of fresh and dried Capsicum products, including chili peppers, have received phytosanitary certification for export to 27 international markets in celebration of the 'Peruvian Chili Pepper Day'. Mexico is the primary market, receiving 45% of the exports, followed by the United States and Spain. Other destinations include the United Arab Emirates, Switzerland, Netherlands, and Canada, among others. The event is used to promote the benefits and diversity of Peruvian chili peppers and to strengthen their position in the global gastronomy industry.
