Peruvian coffee exports totaled 15,388 tons for US$ 65 million in July 2023

(Agraria.pe) Since 2023 began, the month of July has been the best time for Peruvian coffee, with 15,388 tons exported for a value of US$ 65 million, showing a drop of -33% in volume and -46% in value. Furthermore, the average price in the international market was US$ 4.22 per kilogram, thus representing a 19% drop compared to the previous year. In that month, Peruvian coffee reached 29 destinations, of which three accounted for 60% of shipments. The United States, with a 29% share, led the top destinations; followed by Germany, with 23%; and Belgium, with 8%. Exports to the North American country totaled 4,270 tons for US$ 19 million. This was 7% more in volume, but 10% less in value compared to 2022. This was mainly due to a drop in price (-16%), which reached US$ 4.40 per kilogram.
