Mexico consolidates itself as the leading global producer with 34% of the production, followed by Turkey (16%), the European Union (15%), Argentina (14%), the United States (10%), and South Africa (8%). In the case of Spain, production is estimated at 1,260,000 tons, which represents a 21% reduction, caused by productive variability and adverse climatic conditions, such as droughts, which affected the development of the fruit and reduced the sizes. Despite this lower production, Spanish lemon exports registered a slight increase in volume (1.2%) and a significant growth in value during the first semester of the 2024/2025 production season.
