Peruvian paprika exports to decline in September 2024

Peruvian paprika exports experienced a 13% decrease in volume and 19% in value during September 2024, reaching a total of 3,239 tons worth $11.03 million. In addition, the average price per kilogram of paprika decreased by 7%, from $3.65 to $3.40 per kilogram, according to FreshFruit. To date, cumulative paprika exports so far this year amount to $111.23 million, a decrease compared to the total of $149.21 million recorded in 2023, which is due to lower values in 6 of the 9 months elapsed so far. The international scope of paprika exports also underwent changes, reaching 9 destinations, a figure lower than the 11 reached in 2023. Mexico remained the main importer (39.1% share) by acquiring 1,204 tons for a value of $4.32 million ($3.58 per kilogram).
