In February 2025, Peru experienced a notable increase in quinoa exports, with a total of 4,580 tons sent out earning $11.6 million. This represents a 17% rise in volume and an 18% increase in value compared to the same month the previous year. The average price for quinoa also saw a slight uptick by 0.3% to $2.54 per kilogram. The majority of the exports were white quinoa, followed by red and tricolor varieties. The United States, Canada, and China were the primary importers of Peruvian quinoa, with 44% of shipments going to the US. The exports were facilitated by 59 companies, predominantly through the port terminals DP World and APM Terminals.
