Petrobras/Magda Chambriard: Agriculture and oil must go hand in hand in reducing emissions

By Denise Luna and Gabriela da Cunha Rio, 10/14/2025 - Presenting the Energy Planning and Climate Plan of Petrobras to Fluminense entrepreneurs, the president of the state-owned company, Magda Chambriard, said that the reduction of emissions by Brazil does not come through attacking the most exported products, namely, oil and agricultural commodities. "Agriculture and oil must go hand in hand for the reduction of emissions. And in our case, we need to see how our co-processed products will participate in the Fuel of the Future. Petrobras is not refusing to take care of its scope 3 emissions," she stated. Magda reinforced that energy is not the most emitting source of Greenhouse Gases (GHG) in Brazil. "If we are to face energy emissions in the world, we need to face how the world generates this energy. But Brazil is in a different place.
