The city of Huế has just experienced a historic flood with damages exceeding 3,270 billion Vietnamese dong across various sectors. Hundreds of hectares of agricultural land were submerged and damaged, including over 600 hectares of corn and colored vegetables, 255 hectares of fruit trees, and 124,000 pots of flowers and ornamental plants. The aquaculture industry suffered heavily with over 8,300 fish cages submerged, nearly 58 tons of commercial fish, and 60,000 fish fry lost. In addition, over 70 hectares of fields were eroded and buried; nearly 280 hectares of forests were felled, severely affecting the environment and landscape. The infrastructure systems for transportation, irrigation, electricity, water, dikes, and coastlines were also severely damaged.
