The Philippines has experienced a notable surge in milk production, escalating from 17 million liters in 2018 to 28 million liters in 2023, a 65% increase. This growth is paralleled by a 45% rise in the dairy cow population, from 52,000 in 2018 to 75,000 in 2023. With the aim of addressing the projected milk demand of 2.143 billion liters by 2028, the National Dairy Authority (NDA) has ambitiously set a target to elevate local milk production to 80 million liters. This initiative underscores the country's commitment to bolstering its dairy sector and reducing dependency on milk imports.
