Pistachios and seeds: About $400 million are invested by international partners in new agricultural projects in Uzbekistan

Additional steps are being taken in Uzbekistan to effectively implement the Strategy for the Development of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2020-2030. From the decree of the President of the country dated June 7, 2022, it follows that, together with the Gaziantep Research Institute of Pistachio Growing of Turkey, an Uzbek-Turkish pistachio breeding center is being created in the Samarkand region, writes Nuz.uz. Until the end of 2022, it is planned to organize work on the creation of national varieties of pistachios and the construction of nurseries, where high-yielding varieties of Turkish pistachios will be taken as the basis. Pistachio growing is proposed to be developed in the Nurabad district of the Samarkand region.
