Peru: Sechura producers export 20 million tons of loctao beans to South Korea

For the first time, the producers of the San Martín de Sechura Community Foundation sent 20,000 kilos of loctao beans for S/121,000 to the city of Busan in South Korea, reported the Regional Directorate of Agriculture of Piura. The regional governor of Piura, Luis Neyra León, highlighted that the agreement with the Administration Committee of the Trust in Administration, Promotion and Development of the Sechura Mining Cluster, allowed the installation of 1,600 hectares of beans to benefit the farmers of the Foundation. He also indicated that they plan to send five additional containers with 20,000 kilos each. “We will continue with the diversification of crops such as cowpea and adzuki beans. This is a beginning to turn Piura into the breadbasket of Peru.
