The pork sector closed 2025 with a balance of lights and shadows. From the Association of Lean Pork Producers (Pormag) described the year as "a changing context", with a first semester more favorable than the second in terms of profitability, and a scenario that leaves important challenges for 2026. Among the positive aspects, the entity highlighted that production and slaughter returned to grow, albeit at a more moderate pace. "We had an increase close to 3% in animals slaughtered and meat production," they pointed out, a figure that, while far from the historical average of 7%, was valued as encouraging in a year of economic readjustment. One of the most outstanding points of the balance was the performance of the domestic market.
