EU pork exports to third countries remained stable from January to July 2024, with volumes similar to the previous year at 2.36 million tonnes. Spain remained the leader in exports, followed by the Netherlands and Denmark, which experienced slight declines. Germany saw a significant increase of around 17% in pork deliveries to third countries. China continues to be the largest buyer of European pork, but exports to China were nearly 7% lower than the previous year. Trade with some Asian countries, including South Korea and the Philippines, has been difficult due to the outbreak of African swine fever in Europe.
