China's pork prices saw a significant decrease for a week from Dec. 12 to 16, with the average price dropping by 11.1% to 25.76 yuan (around 3.7 USD) per kilogram, as reported by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. Despite this weekly decline, the year-on-year increase was 19.6%, though the rate of increase fell by 7.5 percentage points from the previous week. This price fluctuation comes as Chinese authorities release pork from central reserves and hog production expands, with the government continuing to monitor the hog market closely to ensure long-term stable growth.
