In 2022, Russian pork production saw a 5% increase, reaching over 200 thousand tons, with the industrial segment experiencing a 6.9% growth despite a decline in household plots and peasant farms due to ASF and demographic issues. Despite this increase, pork exports remained stable, leading to higher prices due to domestic demand, which rose by 6% amid state assistance programs and a significant grain harvest. Retail prices for pork in Russia slightly decreased in the second half of the year. The National Union of Pig Breeders predicts a 14% increase in pork production in agricultural organizations by 2025, with the top 20 market players set to increase their annual production by 25%, totaling a 1 million ton increase over three years.
