The Port of Recife saw an 8.66% growth in landings in 2021, handling a total of 1,304,410 tons. Sugar remained the primary export item, followed by barley malt, corn, and metallurgical material. The port also witnessed significant growth in the handling of barley malt and corn, with increases of 18.29% and 32.20% respectively. Metallurgical material saw the highest growth rate at 172.53%. The port's revenue is anticipated to increase further in 2022 with the completion of dredging work.
