Poultry egg prices in Vietnam have surged due to increased demand and lower supply, alongside rising costs of livestock input. Currently, industrial chicken eggs are priced between 30,000-36,000 VND/dozen, and high-end eggs can cost up to 44,000 VND/dozen, marking the highest prices since the start of 2022. Although prices have risen, they have not yet reached the peak seen in July-August 2021, when eggs were sold for as much as 45,000-50,000 VND/dozen. The price hike is attributed to factors such as declining egg-laying numbers among chickens and ducks, seasonal changes, and the economic challenges of maintaining farming due to unpredictable product prices and rising feed costs. Despite these challenges, the egg supply is expected to meet consumer demand.
