Egypt's poultry sector is experiencing a boost with the government's strategy to establish integrated projects in desert areas, encompassing all stages of production from hatching to slaughter. The strategy aims to increase poultry export rates to Saudi and Kuwaiti markets. The country's poultry production is around 1.4 billion chickens annually, with white poultry prices ranging from 88 to 90 pounds per kilo for consumers. Turkey prices have stabilized at 120 and 135 pounds per kilo, and Egypt imports most of its turkey due to limited local production. Duck prices vary from 100 to 130 pounds per kilo, with about four million ducks in Egypt, which is 7% of the poultry population.
