Poultry prices in the local market have increased due to high feed prices and production requirements, according to the Poultry Producers Union. The price of a kilo of white chicken at the farm ranges from 51-52 pounds, while the consumer price varies depending on the region. The union has warned of the high prices and decreased supply of poultry due to a feed crisis and increased intermediate links in the supply chain, leading to higher prices for the consumer. The union has urged the state to import and provide raw materials at cost prices to eliminate the import mafia and for breeders to continue farming. Egypt produces about 1.6 billion birds annually, achieving self-sufficiency, and the industry employs nearly 3 million workers with investments worth about 100 billion pounds.
