Tunisian soft-seeded pomegranates, once considered a luxury product, have seen a significant decline in price due to large-scale planting. The price has gone from 100 yuan per catty to 30-40 yuan per catty. This has led to an increase in the availability of soft-seeded pomegranates in the market, making them the mainstream variety. China has also developed new domestic varieties of pomegranates, with "Angel Red" and "Huaguang" being two popular varieties that offer better quality than Tunisian soft-seeded pomegranates.
