Thailand is the world's largest supplier of preserved pineapples, accounting for 32% of the global market and generating revenue of 20 billion baht (558.3 million euros) annually. The majority of this production is based in Prachuap Khiri Khan, a province in western Thailand. The Prime Minister has unveiled a five-year plan (2023-2027) to bolster the pineapple canning industry and enhance the production, processing, and marketing of canned pineapples. The plan includes funding from the Fruit Development Fund to maintain Thailand's position as the leading exporter of high-quality canned pineapple.
