The first seven months of the year witnessed a total sugar import value of US$1.015 billion, a year-on-year increase of 70.16%, with a volume of 1.7228 million tons, a rise of 42.59%. The top ten countries for sugar imports, accounting for 99.52% of total imports, were Brazil, South Korea, El Salvador, South Africa, Thailand, Nicaragua, Malaysia, India, Indonesia, and Mauritius. Brazil was the primary market for imports, with a value of US$829 million, a year-on-year increase of 134.63%.
