The harvest of greenhouse vegetables in Russia by the end of 2025 is expected to be 1.65 million tons, up from 1.63 million tons in 2024. This forecast was announced by Alexey Sitnikov, president of the association "Greenhouses of Russia," at the final meeting of the Agro-Industrial Committee of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. According to him, the area of greenhouses in the country this year will grow to 3,462 thousand hectares from 3,350 thousand hectares a year earlier. Sitnikov also reported that the profitability of greenhouse vegetable production increased from 0.2% in 2022 to 30.7% in 2024. However, the indicator is very heterogeneous across regions. It is most profitable to produce vegetables in the Urals and Siberia, where the indicator is 40.1% and 41.1%, respectively.
