Kazakhstan has seen a significant increase in its vegetable oil production in the first half of the 2022/23 marketing year, with a nearly 100% rise to 292.338 thousand tons. This includes an 113% increase in unrefined sunflower oil production and a 22% increase in refined sunflower oil production. The country also experienced a 105% increase in the production of high-protein feed like sunflower meal and cake. The main consumers of this product are poultry and livestock farms, and feed mills. The increase in sunflower oil production is set to have a positive impact on related industries, with some oil refineries reducing the prices for high-protein feed, resulting in a decrease in prices by up to 30%.
