PROLIAR unveiled the most comprehensive characterization of the Limangus rodeo: five years of measurements that consolidate the productive potential of the breed.
The Association of Argentine Limangus Producers (PROLIAR) has released the results of the most extensive characterization study conducted to date on the Limangus breed. The work, executed by INTA Cuenca del Salado technicians Sebastián López Valiente and Sebastián Maresca, covered five years of measurements—from the end of 2020 to mid-2025—and constitutes a strategic input to strengthen selection programs and improve the competitiveness of this 100 percent Argentine breed. In total, 2,288 males and 2,265 females from 18 ranches located in San Luis, Entre Ríos, Córdoba, Buenos Aires, and La Pampa were surveyed, providing unprecedented representativeness to establish population reference ranges and guide selection decisions within Limangus herds.
